As Men’s Health Month brings renewed attention to androgen optimization, a newly published longitudinal cohort study of over 9,000 men treated for testosterone deficiency offers BHRT providers the most robust real-world dataset on testosterone therapy (TTh) outcomes to date. Published in the April 2026 issue of World Journal of Men’s Health, Clift and colleagues — including Harvard’s Abraham Morgentaler — analyzed 12-month outcomes across the full spectrum of clinical practice, including the multi-modal regimens with adjuncts (e.g., hCG) that are common in BHRT settings but rarely captured in RCTs. Patients demonstrated significant improvements across all eight quality-of-life domains, including libido (mean baseline 1.94 increasing to 3.20), energy, strength, and erection quality, while hematocrit elevations exceeding 0.54 remained uncommon — reinforcing the favorable benefit-risk profile when treatment is appropriately monitored. For BHRT practitioners, the study validates real-world prescribing patterns and strengthens the evidence base for individualized, combination-based protocols.
